Day of the Spanish Constitution

6 dec 1978 was the day the Consitution of the officially called Kingdom of Spain was born. Therefore, today spaniards celebrate its 27th birthday.

The things I really want to commemorate about this are:

  • The head of our state (a kingdom in our case) is not elected democratically, as he is a king and his succesor will be his son.
  • The head of our state was chosen by dictator Francisco Franco and swore the principles of that dictatorship
  • The article 56.3 of the title number 2 says:

    La persona del Rey es inviolable y no está sujeta a responsabilidad

    This means that whatever he does, he cannot be judged. A great example of equality.
